Mimosa, Royal Poinciana Tree Seeds (Delonix regia)
Delonix Regia is a species of flowering tree in the bean family native to Madagascar. It is noted for its fern-like leaves and flamboyant display of orange-red flowers over summer. In many tropical parts of the world it's now grown as an ornamental tree, which has many names. Royal poinciana, flamboyant, flame of the forest, or flame tree are just some of the common names used.

How to prepare the seeds
- These trees are tropical and will not need a cold stratifying period.
- Soak in initially warm water over night.
- Sow in compost so the seeds are standing up right and only the very top is visible. This will allow you to notice if you've sown the seeds upside down. If the large tap root is pointing upwards, simply rotate the seed so the tap root is facing down.
- Make sure that these seeds are always in a warm spot. Direct sunlight will be fine after the tree sapling is a month old. But protect them before hand.
- You can start the growing process at any time of year, due to keeping them inside.
